We conduct a thorough examination to locate the cause of your health problem.

Let's See What Makes You Tick ..

If our initial consultation suggests that your case would respond well with chiropractic care, we’ll need to perform a complete examination.  Our new practice members often comment on how thorough our examination is, compared with other practitioners they’ve consulted in the past.

Our examination varies based upon what important facts we discover during evaluation of your health history.  What we find will tell us which specific examinations/tests we need to conduct:

Physical

This is a general evaluation that may include the recording of height, weight, pulse, blood pressure and similar objective measurements.

Orthopedic

These tests will measure your overall flexibility; the ability to turn, bend and move key joints of your skeletal system through their expected range of motion.  This will help differentiate mechanical problems from neurological ones.

Neurological

We’ll test your dermatomes (each area of skin is supplied by a particular nerve), deep tendon reflexes, muscle strength and balance, etc. which will give us clues as to the health of your central nervous system.

Chiropractic

These tests will include postural evaluations, static and dynamic palpation and other procedures to reveal neurological problems.

sEMG

Surface electromyography is the most exciting, advanced technology available today.  This amazing instrument locates subluxation patterns by measuring electrical activity in the muscles supporting the spine.  Muscles tense & brace to compensate for differences in tension between right & left sides as a result of these subluxation patterns.  Click here for more information.

Thermography

The same part of our nervous system that controls our internal organs, regulates the temperature of our skin.  Thermography is a way of measuring tiny differences in skin temperature, that can reveal nervous system disturbances and subluxation patterns, which ultimately may affect organ function.

X-ray

Diagnostic imaging can help locate bone abnormalities, fractures and more importantly, will reveal your phase of spinal decay, known as 'osteoarthritis'.

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story.
